LCD Soundsystem
On November 7th, the people behind the very popular Record Store Day will host another Vinyl Saturday, a smaller version of their sister event during which you’ll be able to grab a ton of free swag from your local independent vinyl shop, if you wake up early enough. Among other exclusive releases one stands above the rest: a new disco/punk/house single from LCD Soundsystem.
On Vinyl Saturday, James Murphy’s crew will release a 12” for “Bye Bye Bayou” through DFA/Virgin Records. “Bye Bye Bayou” is a cover of a song from Suicide frontman Alan Vega’s self-titled 1980 debut LP. If you miss the boat out on the 12” LCD will also release it digitally on November 24th.
Acoording to the LCD Facebook page the third album will be out March 2010. “Bye Bye Bayou” won’t appear on that release. Murphy’s latest Facebook update announces, “LCD Soundsystem is making music for a lot of different things right now. 2010 looks to be interesting.

LCD Sound system found its way on my iPod so they have some decent moments like North American Scum. The Rapture is OK, but I plead ignorance to Cursive although I am aware of them. I guess you are vouching for them hardcore so I’ll promise to look further into it.
