Listen: Baroness - “Try to Disappear”
Purple Due Out This Friday via Abraxan Hymns
Dec 16, 2015 Baroness
Baroness are releasing their new album, Purple, this Friday (December 18) via the metal band’s own Abraxan Hymns label. Previously they had shared the first single from it, “Chlorine & Wine,” as well as the lyric video for “Shock Me” and the song “Morningstar.” Now they’ve shared another song from it, “Try to Disappear,” which you can stream below via Stereogum (who premiered it).
Purple is the first album since the terrible tour bus crash in England in 2012 that left nine people injured and happened only a month after the band’s last album, Yellow & Green was released. After the accident drummer Allen Blickle and bassist Matt Maggioni left the band and the current lineup features existing members, guitarists/vocalists John Baizley and Pete Adams, being joined by bassist/keyboardist Nick Jost and drummer Sebastian Thomson. Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev) produced the album.
