Listen: Chromatics Rework “The River” for New Song, “Headlight’s Glare”
Dear Tommy Due Out Someday
May 09, 2016 Chromatics
Johnny Jewel and his band Chromatics have reworked “The River,” a track from their acclaimed Kill For Love 2012 album, and turned it into a new song, “Headlight’s Glare.” It will appear on a new 12-inch, Cherry, due out May 16 via Italians Do It Better. There will also be 12-inches of three 2015-released Chromatics tracks: “Shadow,” “Just Like You,” and their cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” plus a reissue of In the City, from 2010. Listen to the new song below, followed by the original.
Chromatics have long been expected to release a new full-length album entitled Dear Tommy. It was due out last year, but that never happened. Hopefully it’ll come out someday.
