Listen: Death Cab for Cutie - “Black Sun (Dan Deacon Remix)”
Death Cab's Kintsugi and Dan Deacon's Gliss Riffer Both Out Now
May 21, 2015 Dan Deacon
Death Cab for Cutie’s latest album, Kintsugi, is a more straightforward affair production wise when compared to the band’s underrated last album (2011’s Codes and Keys). Perhaps that’s because it’s the first album not produced by former guitarist Chris Walla. Whatever the reason, it’s interesting to see what Dan Deacon does with Kintsugi‘s main single, “Black Sun,” now that he’s gotten his hands on it and given it the remix treatment. Not surprisingly it sounds a lot more like a Deacon composition than a Death Cab one. Check it out below via Brooklyn Vegan, who premiered it, followed by the video for the original version of “Black Sun.” Both Kintsugi and Deacon’s recent Gliss Riffer are out now.
