Iggy Pop released a new album, Post Pop Depression, last March via Loma Vista. Now he has teamed up with Danger Mouse for a new song entitled “Gold.” It’s taken from the soundtrack of a film of the same name, which stars Matthew McConaughey. The song was co-written by the film’s director (Stephen Gaghan) and composer (Daniel Pemberton). Gold got a very limited awards-consideration release on December 30 and gets a wide release on January 27. The song was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song, but lost to La La Land‘s “City of Stars.” Listen to “Gold” below.
