Listen: Jim James - "Here In Spirit" Eternally Even Due Out November 4 via ATO
Oct 14, 2016 My Morning Jacket
My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is releasing a new solo album, Eternally Even, on November 4 via ATO. Previously James shared the album’s politically-charged first single, “Same Old Lie.” Then yesterday he shared a trippy video for the song, along with an anti-Donald Trump statement. Now James has shared another song from the album, “Here In Spirit.” The song is a call to arms (or to vote at least). “If you don’t speak out, we can’t hear it,” James sings. Listen below.
Eternally Even is James’ second solo album, the follow-up to 2013’s Regions of Light and Sound of God. It was co-produced by James and Blake Mills (Alabama Shakes). A press release calls Eternally Even “a heart-thumping call to action” and points out that “the timing of its release, smack in the middle of election season, is no accident.”
One dollar from every ticket purchased for James’ U.S. tour will benefit My Morning Jacket’s Waterfall Project, which will donate to the following organizations: Everytown For Gun Safety Support Fund, The Fairness Campaign, and Healthcare Now.
My Morning Jacket released their last album, The Waterfall, in 2015. Read our 2015 interview with Jim James about the album.
