Pixies are releasing a new album, Head Carrier, on September 30 via Pixiesmusic/[PIAS]. Previously the band shared the album’s first single, “Um Chagga Lagga,” and now here’s another song from the album, “Talent,” a straightforward rocker that references the legendary actor Jack Palance. Listen below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates.

Head Carrier is the band’s second album since reuniting in 2004 and is the follow-up to 2014’s Indie Cindy, which was more of an EP collection than an album. It is the first album to feature Paz Lenchantin (A Perfect Circle, Zwan, The Entrance Band) as their new permanent bassist. Tom Dalgety (Killing Joke, Royal Blood) produced Head Carrier, which was recorded at London’s Rak Studios from mid-February through to mid-March this year. Pixies spent six weeks in pre-production (writing, arranging, and rehearsing all the songs), which was a luxury the band didn’t have in their ‘80s and ‘90s heyday when they were releasing a new album a year from 1988 to 1991.
