Listen: Sinéad O’Connor - “Take Me To Church”
I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss Out August 12
Jun 18, 2014 Sinead O’Connor
Sinéad O’Connor’s tenth album, I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss, is set to be released August 12th, and today O’Connor teased the first new track, “Take Me To Church.”
The Irish pop icon says in a press release that “the protagonist I’m writing about has had a profoundly distressing experience from which she is ultimately able to not only salvage herself but give birth to herself, coming to the conclusion, ‘I am only one I should adore.’”
O’Connor’s 1987 debut, The Lion and the Cobra, was a breakout hit but she attained mega-star status in the early 90s with the Prince-composed song “Nothing Compares 2 U.” O’Connor has also been the center of several political controversies during her nearly 25 year career, but has continued to put out albums. Her most recent was 2012’s How About I Be Me (And You Be You)?

her debut was called The Lion And The Cobra, assuming you’re using italics for album titles and quotations around song titles.
