Listen: St. Vincent - “Emotional Rescue” (The Rolling Stones Cover)

From the Soundtrack to A Bigger Splash

St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) has covered The Rolling Stones’ “Emotional Rescue” for the soundtrack to the new film A Bigger Splash. The film stars Tilda Swinton as a rock star and also features Matthias Schoenaerts, Ralph Fiennes, and Dakota Johnson. Luca Guadagnino directed the film, which is out today in U.K., but not out in the U.S. and Canada until May 13 (via Fox Searchlight).

The soundtrack is available digitally in Europe now and on CD in Europe on February 19. It will be released digitally in the U.S. and Canada March 4 and will be out on CD in the U.S. and Canada on May 13. Annie Clark commented on the cover in her e-newsletter: “I saw an 11 AM showing of I Am Love at the sunshine cinema on Houston street. I walked out of the theater in a daze, wandered into a nearby church, found the last pew, and wept for an hour. So when Luca asked me to be involved in his latest film, i said yes a thousand times and then once more. Luca, Tilda fucking Swinton, Ralph, Matthias, Dakota—all made a beautiful film. So proud to have worked with Sounwave(!!!) and Terrace Martin(!!!) on this Stones track. They are a dream team. Hope you enjoy. xx”
