Listen: Sufjan Stevens: “Get Real, Get Right”
Single Off 2010’s Album The Age of Adz
Sufjan Steven's last year release, The Age of Adz, was inspired by the film MAKE filmed in 2009 before the creation of the album. The film chronicles the lives of four physically challenged artists and how they persist in their creative endeavors by using self-taught techniques to create artwork that is anything but ordinary.
In a press release, Stevens is quoted speaking about the movie, "a beautiful and insightful look at the sublime task of making art when nothing will else do." The album The Age of Adz was created using artwork by one of the artists, Royal Robertson, and the artist's story was also inspiration for the music itself. Listen to "Get Real, Get Right" and watch a preview for the movie below.
