As Part of Amazon Acoustics
Jul 09, 2015
Surfer Blood
Amazon Music (as in Amazon.com) have put together the Amazon Acoustics compilation that features artists covering other artists’ songs acoustically. Surfer Blood’s take on OutKast’s megahit “Hey Ya” in on the comp and can be streamed below. They turn the funky song into a delightful folk-rock number.
The comp also features The Walkmen’s Petter Matthew Bauer covering St. Vincent’s “Prince Johnny,” The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser covering Beach House’s “Astronaut,” The Districts taking on David Bowie’s “Ashes to Ashes,” and more. It will only be available via Amazon Music and only streamable via Amazon Prime.
Surfer Blood’s 1000 Palms is out now via Joyful Noise. Read our recent My Firsts interview with the band.
