At a BBC Proms concert tonight at the Royal Albert Hall in London they paid tribute to Scott Walker. Jules Buckley and the Heritage Orchestra led the concert with guest vocalists Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley, John Grant, and Susanne Sundfør all performing Walker’s songs. You can listen to the whole concert over at the BBC here.
Cocker did “Boy Child,” “Plastic Palace People,” “The War is Over (Sleepers),” and “Little Things (That Keep Us Together).” Cocker also just interviewed Walker on his BBC Radio 6 show, which you can listen to here.
Cocker recently teamed up with Chilly Gonzales for a new collaborative concept album, Room 29, via Deutsche Grammophon. The album is inspired by room 29 in the iconic Hollywood hotel Château Marmont, which has had many famous guests (the hotel opened in 1929).
