Feb 03, 2014 U2
Last night during the Super Bowl U2 previewed “Invisible,” the first piece of new music off the band’s 13th studio album, due out this year. Until 11:59 p.m. tonight, the single will be available as a free download on iTunes. With every click Bank of America will donate $1 to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, which has partnered with Bono’s non-profit (RED). In an interview with USA Today, Bono says that “Invisible” is not the first official single off the upcoming album. “We have another song we’re excited about to kick off the album,” he explains. “This is just sort of a sneak preview — to remind people we exist.”
Bono also pointed out that the band plans to continue working on the album “for a couple of months,” with a scheduled release sometime this summer.
