Lollapalooza Goes Global with The Killers, Kanye West
Lineup, Dates for First International Fest Announced
Lollapalooza has a few reasons to celebrate this year. Not only does 2011 mark the uber-popular Chicago-based music fest's 20th anniversary, but also the first time the fest is crossing international borders. That's right—Lollapalooza is going global.
Today, Jane's Addiction frontman and Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell announced the dates and lineup for Lollapalooza Chile, which will takeover Santiago's O'Higgins Park this spring. Unlike its sister festival in Chicago, Lollapalooza Chile will only be a two-day event, taking place Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3.
Kanye West, The Killers, and Jane's Addiction have been confirmed as the inaugural fest's headliners. Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The National, The Flaming Lips, Cat Power, Cold War Kids, and Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes are also scheduled to perform.
