Los Campesinos! are offering up a brand new song as a free download on their website. “The Sea Is a Good Place to Think of the Future” is available at the band’s site now. At www.loscampesinos.com you can also check out the song’s video, which was co-directed by band member Ellen Campesinos!
Los Campesinos! have a new album due out early next year. The album was recorded in suburban Connecticut with producer John Goodmanson at the Carriage House, the same studio where Pixies recorded Doolittle. “[We’re] experimenting with different sounds, a bit of electronics, extra instrumentation from people outside the band, which is really exciting,” said drummer Ollie in an interview with Under the Radar back in May. “Tom’s got very into glitch kind of ideas,” violinist Harriet added in that interview. “He loves the first Efterklang record, which has got lots and lot of weird noises and stuff. So, he’s really into that. And, that’s something that we never touched upon in the first two records.”
The band has a few U.K. tour dates in the cards for October:
21 - Coventry Kasbah
22 - Southampton Joiners
23 - Exeter The Phoenix
24 - Cardiff The Gate (Swn Festival)
26 - Manchester Deaf Institute
27 - Newcastle University
28 - London Garage (SOLD OUT)
29 - Oxford Zodiac
30 - Leeds Cockpit
