M83 Announces New Tour Dates
"Epic" New Album Due for 2016 Release

M83 (aka Anthony Gonzalez) announced back in December that he’d finished his new album and that it’s due out sometime in 2016. Now he’s announced a bunch of tour dates, which include some previously announced festival stops (such as Coachella and Sasquatch!). The dates are below.
The new album is the follow-up to 2011’s fantastic Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. In an in-the-studio interview with Entertainment Weekly back in December Gonzalez called the new album “epic.” “It’s a very strong album with a lot of eclecticism,” Gonzalez told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s very epic. There’s a lot of different genres that are not supposed to live together but I tried to make them live together, which is quite challenging. It’s also quite different from the previous albums which is what I’m the most proud of.”
Gonzalez also said that the album was inspired by ‘70s and ‘80s television. “Shows like Punky Brewster and Who’s the Boss,” he said. “I feel like TV shows are starting to sound and look the same. There’s no more passion anymore. So this album is a tribute to those old-fashioned shows.”
