Mac DeMarco is releasing a new album, Here Comes the Cowboy, on May 10th on Mac's Record Label (that's actually the name of his new label). Previously he shared a video for its first single, "Nobody." Now he has shared another song from it, "All of Our Yesterdays." Listen below, followed by his upcoming tour dates.

DeMarco had this to say about the single in a press release:

"Hi everybody, Mac here.
Here's my new song, it's called 'All of Our Yesterdays.' This was the first song I wrote in the sequence of songs that appear on my new record. Most of the rest of the songs were written in November right before we went on tour in Europe, but this one's probably from about seven or eight months before that. I left it sitting with only one verse done for a long time, then finished it up while I was writing the rest of the record. The phrase 'all of our yesterdays' comes from the play Macbeth. Also I think there's a Star Trek episode from 1969 with the same title; very cool. I had just seen a documentary about Oasis before writing this song, and I was trying to write a gigantic rock and roll hit with my renewed love for the band. I didn't really get close to that at all, but I'm happy with the song that came out hahahahaha.
I hope you enjoy, have a nice day.
See ya later."

DeMarco wrote, tracked, and mixed Here Comes the Cowboy at his Jizz Jazz Studios in Los Angeles "during the first two weeks of an exceptionally rainy January, 2019." DeMarco played almost every instrument on the album, except from some keyboards here and there by touring member Alec Meen. Joe Santarpia shares engineering and mixing duties with DeMarco.

The album cover features "a rusty old grinning pin" that "was purchased from a man in the mountains somewhere in the Nantahala National Forest between Chattanooga, TN and Asheville, NC."

DeMarco had this to say about the album in a press release: "This one is my cowboy record. Cowboy is a term of endearment to me, I use it often when referring to people in my life. Where I grew up there are many people that sincerely wear cowboy hats and do cowboy activities. These aren't the people I'm referring to."

DeMarco's last album, This Old Dog, came out in 2017. Read our review of This Old Dog.
