Mark Ronson and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Share Video for “Summer Breaking / Daffodils”
Ronson's Uptown Special Out Now
Mark Ronson's massive hit fourth album, last year's Uptown Special, featured two songs with guest vocals from Kevin Parker of Tame Impala. Now the two songs have been combined into one video about a young woman (played by model Sarah McDaniel, the cover star of Playboy's first non-nude issue) trying to avoid her parents on a tropical family holiday. The transition from one song to another is well handled. Theo Wenner directed the clip and both songs feature lyrics written by Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Michael Chabon (The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay). Watch it below via Rolling Stone.
Ronson spoke to Rolling Stone about the video: "'Summer Breaking' is probably my personal favorite on Uptown Special. And seeing as Kevin and Tame Impala are so hot right now, we thought we could really make the most of this 'hotness' by making a video for not one but two of his songs from Uptown Special, 'Summer Breaking' and 'Daffodils.' Theo Wenner made a beautiful video that really captures (and goes beyond) what we were envisioning when Michael Chabon wrote those haunting lyrics."
Tame Impala's Currents is also out now. Also read our recent cover story article on Tame Impala and our bonus digital interview with Parker. And Ronson is interviewed in our current print issue, the Best of 2015 issue, which is still on newsstands now.
