Over the weekend during the Pop Montreal Arcade Fire‘s Win Butler organized his second annual “POP Vs. Jock” charity basketball game, where he and team of musical artists played a game of hoops against members of the McGill University Redmen and the Concordia University Stingers. For the halftime show Butler, his brother Will and wife Régine Chassagne (in full mascot mode) performed with The Strokes’ Nikolai Fraiture and and David Byrne to perform “96 Tears” and KC and the Sunshine Band’s “That’s the Way (I Like It).” Video of the show naturally found its way online for the rest of the world to enjoy.
Proceeds of the “POP Vs. Jock” game benefitted the DJ Sports Club, a non-profit in Montreal that offers athletic and educational programs to area youth.
