
Merge Records Announces Initial Lineup for 30th Anniversary Festival

Merge Records are celebrating their 30th anniversary with a hometown festival July 24-27, 2019, in Carrboro and Durham, NC. The four-day festival is set to feature more than 30 artists and the initial lineup has been announced. It includes Superchunk, Fucked Up, Titus Andronicus, The Mountain Goats, Waxahatchee, Lambchop, Ibibio Sound Machine, Hiss Golden Messenger, Sneaks, Swearin', Destroyer, and Wye Oak.
Festival passes go on sale this Friday, February 8, at 11 a.m. ET. There's a limit to two per customer and each pass costs $215 (plus service fees). The pass gets you into to all festival venues over all four days. You can buy tickets here.
In other Merge news, the label has put together an all-star group from across their roster to cover David Bowie's "Heroes". It features Dan Bejar, Mac McCaughan, Jenn Wasner, William Tyler, and Brad Cook and is entitled A Merge Group Performs "Heroes". The album was recently sent out to subscribers of the band's 2019 vinyl subscription series called Born Under a Good Sign, but this Friday it'll be more widely available to stream and buy.
