MGMT Announce Self-Titled LP

MGMT have officially announced the release of their self-titled third LP, arriving Sept. 17 via Columbia. Anticipation for the new record has been developing for the past several of months with the band releasing a cassette single on Record Store Day and debuting several new songs during recent live performances.
According to a press release MGMT will be come with “unique visual elements to accompany and illustrate the new music” via something the band dubs “the Optimizer”, which “provides listeners of the album with a simultaneous aural and optical listening experience featuring video and CGI work.”
MGMT will soon announce plans for a U.S. tour set to take place this November and December.
