Mount Eerie Announces Second LP of 2012

Ocean Roar Out Sept. 4

Last month Mount Eerie, aka singer/songwriter Phil Elverum, released Clear Moon, the first of two full-length albums scheduled for release this year. On Sept. 4, the Washington state native will release its companion piece, Ocean Roar. Described in a statement as being “a counterpoint to the soft synth walls and landscape pondering” of its predecessor, featuring “endless chords, repeating note flurries, stretched drones,” the more experimental work is teased with an excerpt from the included track “Pale Lights” which you can stream below. From sound of things, it feels as Elverum were riding out a severe storm in the de-sanctified church where it was recorded.
