It's been three long years since Evil Urges, but My Morning Jacket are returning with Ciruital, the band's sixth full-length record due out some time this spring. Looking for re-invention, the Kentucky natives left the lofty and expensive studios of New York City and traveled to Louisville, recording the entire album in the much-inspiring atmosphere of a church's gym, sitting in a circle and recording the songs straight to a 24-track tape.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, My Morning Jacket divulge several tidbits, secrets, and overall fun facts about Circuital. As chirping birds and car engines can be heard throughout the album, Jim James told RS: "This is the most live record we've ever done."

James continued: "We want people to have almost the exact opposite experience they had last time. I definitely had some goals of wanting to make this one warmer and somehow more contained and more concise of a statement." We're not yet sure about the concise part, but it seems like James' vision of a "warmer" tone was definitely followed through, as Circuital is reportedly full of "trippy keyboards," "twisted pop hooks," and "fuzzed-out guitar attacks."

In anticipation of Circuital's release, My Morning Jacket will be releasing six weekly downloads, starting today. The first five downloads are live tracks taken from the band's performance at New York City's Terminal 5 last October, while the sixth download will be a fresh single off Circuital. The band has also released a batch of spring tour dates—check them out below.
