Neneh Cherry released a new Four Tet-produced album, Broken Politics, back in October via Smalltown Supersound. Now she has shared a video for "Natural Skin Deep." Akinola Davies (aka Crack Stevens) directed the video, which was filmed in Beirut and partly examines our obsession with (or addiction to) smart phones. Watch it below. Cherry has also announced some new shows in New York and Los Angeles, which are detailed below too.

Davies had this to say about the video in a press release: "We filmed the video with a large and beautiful cast in Beiruit, Lebanon. Much of my work is community centric, be it global or local community. It's important that we all see ourselves reflected in art. Equally it's about whether our relationship with materialism is making us more apathetic to what's going on around us? Neneh being this global icon and the name of the album being called 'Broken Politics' lent itself to having more intent within the various themes. There is a lot going on in video truth be told, I went to see Neneh play at Village Underground and everyone whipped out their phones to film her, so much so I got asked by this guy to move because I was in the way of his phone. Seemed quite ironic that the world is right here in front of us, really 360 degree drama. Instead of communicating through screens maybe we're all consuming it through screens."

Previously Cherry shared four songs from Broken Politics: "Kong" (which was one of our Songs of the Week), "Shot Gun Shack" (which was also one of our Songs of the Week), "Natural Skin Deep," and "Synchronized Devotion."

Speaking of Broken Politics' album title and the album as a whole, Cherry said this in a previous press release: "I'm very shy about taking on big themes with the airs that I've got a solution-who has the fucking solutions? I like writing from a personal perspective, and the time we live in is so much about finding your own voice. People have been left feeling misheard, misunderstood, and disillusioned. What the fuck can I do? Maybe politics starts in your bedroom, or your house-a form of activism, and a responsibility. The album is about all of those things: feeling broken, disappointed, and sad, but having perseverance. It's a fight against the extinction of free thought and spirit."

"Kong" was co-produced by Four Tet and Massive Attack's 3D and shared via a video directed by Jenn Nkiru (Kamasi Washington). Cherry's last album was 2014's Blank Project, which was also produced by Four Tet. Turner Prize winning Wolfgang Tillmans designed the Broken Politics' cover art. The album was recorded in Woodstock, NY.

Cell phone and tech addiction is a real problem. I work on my computer a lot, and I have to make myself take breaks.

As it happens, when it comes to getting your iPhone fixed by a local workshop you are practically throwing your phone into hands of semi-skilled technicians who can only work with what they have and not with what is required. You can go to the iphone repair houston tx if you need more details. iPhones are indeed expensive babies that need good care to be taken off and once they encounter some damage, the owners almost go into a panic and anxiety attack. Well, when it comes to any damage to these gadgets, only mobile repair experts or the authorized service centers should be trusted for getting your phone repaired.
