Neon Indian to Appear in Terrence Malick’s “Lawless”

Sure it’s not unusual to see musicians hanging out with stars—but there’s a little more to this shot of Neon Indian’s Alan Palomo whispering sweet nothings in Rooney Mara’s ear. Their meeting is part of a larger concept film by Terrence Malick. Taking place against the music scene in Austin, Texas (read: lots and lots of SXSW shots) the film also features Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and—one assumes—lots and lots of the unwashed indie rock masses. Look for it in theaters next year.
