Neutral Milk Hotel LPs Set For Vinyl Reissue by Merge
Both 180 Gram Vinyls Come With 320 kbps Download Codes
Elephant 6 Collective's Neutral Milk Hotel is arguably one of the best bands of the 20th century and their cult status has never waned in the 11 years since the last time they released an album. In fact, the group's critical import has probably grown by leaps and bounds with the aide of the Internet.
Fans are still clutching to the sliver of hope that the seminal rock group and its reclusive leader Jeff Mangum will return. In the meantime, the always-industrious Merge is reissuing NMH's two LPs November 3rd. In case you were wondering that would be the 1996 full-length debut, On Avery Island and the magnificent sacred cow, 1998's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. The latter was reissued in 2005 to glowing reiews.
The reissues come with no extra bonus tracks but it doesn't really matter. These two stand on their own. The 180 gram vinyls will also be packaged with download codes, so fans can hear those lovely singing saws and horn solors in 320 kbps glory.

Wonderful. I hear that Mangum does come out of hiding from time to time to play shows with his former cohorts’ other projects.
