New Iron & Wine LP Due In Early 2011
It's Called Kiss Each Other Clean
It's been nearly three years since we've heard a new Iron & Wine joint, but don't fret folk-rock fans. Sam Beam was quietly working on new songs throughout this year. Iron & Wine's fourth album arrives early in 2011, and it's called Kiss Each Other Clean (via Pitchfork.)
A member of the fansite Passing Afternoon interviewed Beam about the album awhile back and the rumor is that he's diving back into more of a country-rock zone for the new tracks (think of his collaborative EP with Calexico, In the Reins). (Those are a lot of italics for one sentence so don't bet on it too much.)
Third full-length, The Shepherd's Dog (2007) went in some very interesting directions, so one can hope the rumors are true.
Beam's band is touring at the moment. When that's done, they'll perform a few solo acoustic gigs in the Midwest. Check the dates out below. In related news, Iron & Wine has a Twitter now.
