Quentin Tarantino’s much-anticipated new motion picture, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to rave reviews (it already has an 85 on Metacritic, equalling “universal acclaim,” and a 90 on Rotten Tomatoes) and now a new trailer for it has been shared. Watch it below.
The film is due out July 26 via Columbia. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as TV actor Rick Dalton, with Brad Pitt as his stunt double and friend Cliff Booth. The film takes place in Los Angeles in 1969 and is littered with real life figures, such as Margot Robbie as the doomed Sharon Tate, Mike Moh as Bruce Lee, Damon Herriman as Charles Manson, Nicholas Hammond as Sam Wanamaker, and Damian Lewis as Steve McQueen.
How Charles Manson and his cult figures into the plot is still a mystery. The packed cast also features Al Pacino, Dakota Fanning, Emile Hirsch, Scoot McNairy, Lena Dunham, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, Timothy Olyphant, James Marsden, and the late Luke Perry (who had finished filming his role before his passing). Tarantino writes and directs and the film is his first since 2015’s The Hateful Eight.
