Today’s Patreon exclusive is a selection of previously unseen photos of Florence and the Machine‘s Florence Welch from a photo-shoot Under the Radar‘s co-publisher Wendy Lynch Redfern did with her in 2010.
The shoot was done for our Best of 2010 Issue and the images include one black & white photo and three color shots. Florence and the Machine’s debut album, Lungs, may have come out in 2009, but she was still riding its momentum in 2010. We photographed Welch at the London hotel in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, on the Sunset Strip. The day before Wendy and her husband, Under the Radar‘s other publisher and senior editor Mark Redfern, had to put their 16-year-old cat Marley down. Welch’s own cat was put down a few years earlier and she commiserated. Florence and the Machine’s most recent album was 2015’s How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.
