Legendary music photographer David Redfern was down at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival earlier this month. We've just posted a gallery of Under the Radar-friendly artists who Redfern shot at the festival, including photos of Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket, Elvis Costello, The Dead Weather, and Elvis Perkins in Dearland. Check out the full gallery of photos here.
This is the 34th year that Redfern has shot the festival. London, England-based Redfern is a longtime music photographer and is well known for his '60s work shooting The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and countless others in the era; as well as his many years of passionately capturing frames of such jazz and blues legends as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, and many more. He was on the Magical Mystery Tour with The Beatles for goodness sake! For a ton of Redfern's iconic photos and a bunch of humorous stories about his life, such as the time he shot Frank Sinatra's passport photo, check out his book, The Unclosed Eye. And visit Redfern's website for a sampling of his photos and news on who he's shooting now.
