PJ Harvey Debuts Single “Written on the Forehead”
Tracklist For Let England Shake Also Released
Nov 30, 2010
PJ Harvey
Last week, we reported that PJ Harvey, arguably indie rock’s most emotionally tortured songstress, would be releasing a new full-length album, Let England Shake, on February 15th. Today, Harvey presented fans with even bigger news—the record’s debut single, “Written on the Forehead.”
Although longtime Harvey fans might miss her raw, nails-scratching-on-chalkboards vocals—replaced with a fuller, more processed lilt—“Written on the Forehead” is a darkly beautiful track complete with a gospel-esque chorus and tambourines sprinkled throughout. She has come a long way since 1992’s Dry, but luckily, we’re still along for the ride.
You can listen to “Written on the Forehead” via Soundcloud and check out the album’s tracklist posted below.
