New York based indie rock band Miss Grit have shared their new propulsive single, “Running Slow,” and we are pleased to premiere it. The IDM inflected backdrop of skittering electronics is cut through by razor sharp guitar and clear, incantatory vocals, making the track sound like the mutant offspring of Massive Attack and St. Vincent. Check out the track, single art, as well as some tour dates below.

On the making of the song, frontwoman Margaret Sohn had this to say: “I wanted to write a song that I thought could be featured in a Nike commercial so I didn’t feel so guilty spending weeks in my apartment being a potato. ‘Running Slow’ was my first venture into electronic drums and made me go out and buy my first Moog - the Moog DFAM. I hope it’s a song that allows you to feel ok feeling like shit in New York City, or wherever you are.”

The single is the first time a new artist has been featured on Cigarettes After Sex’s label Spanish Prayers. This single comes after the release of their January debut EP Talk Talk.
