Members Of Supergrass Unite With Producer Nigel Godrich to Form “The Hot Rats”

Trio To Produce The Next Great Cover Album

Producer Nigel Godrich, known for his work with Radiohead and Beck, has united with Supergrass’ Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey on a sideproject. NME reports that the trio, recording under moniker The Hot Rats, is working on a cover album, featuring songs by The Kinks, Gang of Four, Syd Barrett, Roxy Music, and The Sex Pistols.The resulting album will be released this fall.

Not content to simply a studio act, the trip will be appearing at a series of U.K. festivals this summer. No news yet of dates stateside.
