Radiohead to Play Haiti Benefit Show in Los Angeles This Sunday
Tickets Available Through Ticketmaster Auction, All Proceeds Going to Benefit Earthquake Victims
In a fundraising effort to benefit earthquake victims in Haiti, Radiohead has announced a rare club performance in Los Angeles this weekend. The latest in a string of artists and celebrities lending their international repute to raise awareness and collect money for Haitian victims (George Clooney, for example), Radiohead will be performing at the relatively miniature Music Box at the Fonda Theatre—the size of the venue being an added boon to the band's scarcity in the States. And as of Thursday night, tickets have been up for auction in pairs via Ticketmaster in order to amass as much money as possible. The auction ends Saturday (the day before the show) at 11 a.m. with all proceeds going to the Oxfam Haiti relief fund.
Radiohead announced on the show on their Dead Air Space blog, casually adding, "We're in the middle of recording at the moment, so you'll be catching us on the fly....but if you're up for it, then we are too." (via mxdwn.com)
