Radiohead’s Phil Selway Set to Release Debut Solo Album
Assisted By Members of Wilco, Soul Coughing, and Lisa Germano
The odiously clichéd drummer joke goes, "What was the last thing the drummer said before he got fired? 'Hey guys, I've got some songs I've been writing.'" This rule doesn't necessarily apply to Phil Selway of Radiohead, primarily because their songwriting process is largely a democratic one. And now, Selway has an outlet for songs he's personally penned, as his debut solo album Familial is due August 30 on Bella Union. Special guests on the record include drummer Glenn Kotche and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Sansone of Wilco, Lisa Germano, and Sebastian Steinberg, formerly of Soul Coughing. And even as Selway prepares for this release, Radiohead are continuing work on the follow up to 2007's In Rainbows in Los Angeles.
Familial tracklist:
By Some Miracle
Beyond Reason
A Simple Life
All Eyes On You
The Ties That Bind Us
Patron Saint
Falling
Broken Promises
Don't Look Down
The Witching Hour
