Ride
Ride, the British shoegaze outfit, is reuniting for a world tour next year. The band called it quits in 1996, but banners have been popping up all over Barcelona hinting at their reunion. They’ve officially announced a series of tour dates for next spring that include Primavera Sound Festival and Field Day in London.

Ride is the brainchild of Oxford mates Mark Gardener, Andy Bell, Steve Queralt, and Laurence Colbert. They formed in the summer of 1988, and went on to become one of the most prominent shoegaze bands of the decade.

One real ‘sign of the times’ that a shoegaze revival is currently underway comes in the form of 30 bands from 16 countries (5 of the 6 inhabited continents are covered), who have united together in this EPIC (and free) shoegaze compilation. The album is also supported by Creation Records’ founder Joe Foster & a whole slew of first-wave shoegazers from Swervedriver, The Telescopes (both on Creation Records), Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Swallow (4AD), among others ~ http://eartoearrecords.co.uk/album/revolution-the-shoegaze-revival
