School of Seven Bells have announced a new album, SVIIB, due for release next February. It is the band’s first album since the passing of founding member Benjamin Curtis, who passed in December 2013 after a battle with T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. Curtis’ bandmate Alejandra Deheza has put the album together featuring material Curtis recorded when he was still alive, recordings from the summer of 2012. Last summer Deheza had said she was working on the new album and also posted a cover of Joey Ramone’s “I Got Knocked Down (But I’ll Get Up).” Below is a brief teaser trailer for the album. Deheza posted this statement to the band’s website when announcing the album:
“Friends,
Benjamin and I wrote this record during a tour break in the summer of 2012. I can easily say that it was one of the most creative and inspired summers of our lives. What followed was the most tragic, soul shaking tidal wave that life could deliver, but even that wouldn’t stop the vision for this record from being realized. This is a love letter from start to finish. It’s the story of us starting from that first day we met in 2004, and that’s the story of School of Seven Bells. So much love to all of you. Thank you for being a constant light in our lives.
This record is for you.
-Alejandra”

So I had no idea about them until one of my friends came to my house and told me to listen to their songs as they have been getting super famous. I instantly fell in love with their musics and thought that I should document their journey on https://www.australian-writings.org/. I am waiting so much for their new songs as it seems like they have done a lot of effort for making it.
