Sigur Rós Announce New Album, “Kveikur”
Out June 18
Mar 22, 2013 Sigur Rós
Less than a year since the release of their previous work Valtari, Sigur Rós have announced the arrival of their next LP, Kveikur. Scheduled to come out June 17 internationally and June 18 in the U.S. on the band’s new label home XL Recordings, the new album will be the group’s first as a three-piece following the recent departure of multi-instrumentalist Kjartan Sveinsson. Below you listen to the studio recording of “Brennisteinn” in a new music video by Andrew Huang (the track has been played live at recent performances).
As you scroll you can also check out the record’s complete tracklist as well as the band’s forthcoming schedule of tour dates. In case you were unsure, the creepy black-and-white image is the cover art for the record.
