Sigur Rós To Release DVD Collecting “Mystery Film Experiment” Videos

In a completely expected move Sigur Rós have announced that they will collect the videos of their artful “Mystery Film Experiment” as part of a special compilation release next year. Available digitally Feb. 5 and in physical formats on March 5 through XL Recordings, all 16 videos shared over the course of the last six months will be included.

The project itself saw Sigur Rós give over a dozen filmmakers the same modest budget and ask them to create whatever came into their head when they listened to songs from the band’s new album Valtari. According to the band “the idea is to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow people utmost creative freedom.”
