On Friday night DIIV frontman Zachary Cole Smith was arrested alongside indie pop singer and girlfriend Sky Ferreira. According to the Daily Freeman, the pair were stopped by police while driving through Saugerties, New York and were taken into custody on multiple charges, including drug possession. Smith was initially was pulled over for making several traffic infractions. Following a registration check of the vehicle, police discovered the car to be stolen and that Smith was wanted on an outstanding vehicle and traffic warrant. A search of Smith showed he was possession of “42 decks of heroin.”

Smith was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of stolen property, and one count of aggravated unlicensed driving. Additional charges were placed on Smith for driving an unregistered motor vehicle, driving without insurance, driving without a license, and having an inadequate exhaust system.

Ferreira meanwhile was found to be in possession of Ecstasy, and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
