Sleigh Bells Announce New Album – “Jessica Rabbit”

Jessica Rabbit Due Out November 11

Sleigh Bells’ “Demons” (from 2012’s sophomore album Reign of Terror) was used to great effect in last fall’s season one finale of Jessica Jones. A character listened to the song loudly on noise-cancelling headphones to help counteract David Tennant’s villainous and charismatic Kilgrave, who can control minds with the sound of his voice. It was a strong reminder of the power of the duo’s music. Since then Alexis Krauss and Derek E. Miller have released three new songs and long teased their fourth album, the follow-up to 2013’s Bitter Rivals. Now the album has been announced, and it’s named after another famous fictional Jessica, Jessica Rabbit (Roger Rabbit’s Kathleen Turner-voiced femme fatale wife in the beloved 1988 Disney live action/animation hybrid film Who Framed Roger Rabbit?). It’s due out November 11 and contains two of the three songs they’ve released in the last year (“Hyper Dark” and “Rule Number One”). Above is the cover art (which seems to feature a tiger and elephant battling, rather than a bunny) and below is the tracklist.

“Hyper Dark” was shared in July and “Rule Number One” was released in June. A third song not included on the album, “Champions of Unrestricted Beauty,” was released back in December. Below is “Hyper Dark” again, followed by the band’s tour dates.
