Soccer Mommy (the project of Nashville native Sophie Allison) released a new album, color theory, in February via Loma Vista. It was right before the pandemic hit and she didn’t really get a chance to tour behind the album, but now she has announced a new livestream concert and has also shared a new video for “crawling in my skin.” Watch the Adam Kolodny-directed video below.

Allison had this to say about the video in a press release: “I’m excited to put out this video for crawling in my skin right at the end of spooky season. I hope everyone enjoys this video and their Halloween!”

The livestream will be part of Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage’s SummerStage Anywhere digital series. The performance is from the Belcourt Theater in Nashville and will first air at 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, November 19. It will be available on the SummerStage social channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and will be available to watch for two weeks on demand.

Despite not touring, Allison has stayed busy over quarantine. Along with an 8-bit animated tour, a club penguin set, and doing the first Tiny Desk (Home) Concert for NPR Music, she launched the Soccer Mommy & Friends Singles Series (via Bandcamp) with big name acts such as Jay Som, beabadoobee, SASAMI, and Gentle Dom (a.k.a. Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT).

Color theory is the follow-up to Allison’s debut full-length album, Clean, released in 2018 via Fat Possum. It was one of our Top 100 Albums of 2018. Gabe Wax produced the album (he also produced Clean), which was written on tour and recorded in Nashville at Alex The Great. Lars Stalfors mixed the album, which features the live Soccer Mommy band on studio recordings for the first time. The album title and song titles are all intended to be written in lowercase.
