Solange Knowles Announces New Album for Release This Friday, Features Blood Orange

A Seat At the Table Due Out This Friday via Saint Records/Columbia

Solange Knowles has announced a new album, A Seat At the Table, that’s due out this Friday, September 30, via Saint Records and Columbia. The album features Devonte Hynes (aka Blood Orange), Moses Sumney, Sampha, Q-Tip, Tweet, and former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland (Solange is Beyoncé‘s sister after all), among others.

The album was announced yesterday directly to 86 fans who Knowles mailed a poetry book of lyrics and photos also entitled A Seat At the Table. A digital version of the book can be downloaded at Knowles’ website here. Knowles began writing and producing the album in 2013 and describes it in a press release as “a project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief, and healing.” No music has been shared from the album yet, but below is the tracklist and cover art.
