Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo Announces New Album With New Band, The Dust
Last Night on Earth Out Oct. 8
Aug 13, 2013 Lee Ranaldo
Following last year’s Between the Times and the Tides, Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo has announced the arrival of a new LP with his own band The Dust (Sonic Youth’s Steve Shelley, Alan Licht, Tim Lüntzel). The group’s forthcoming album, Last Night on Earth, was written in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy when Ranaldo’s New York home lost power, running water, and heat for a week. Click below to listen to the record’s opening track “Lecce, Leaving.” Last Night on Earth comes out Oct. 8 on Matador.
