Bassist Nick Allbrook Departs Tame Impala
Cam Avery Joins
Tame Impala's bassist, Nick Allbrook, has revealed that he has left the band. Allbrook played his last show at Perth's Belvoir Amphitheatre this past Saturday, and will be replaced by Cam Avery, who plays in Pond, a fellow psychedelic rock band fronted by Allbrook.
In a statement on Tame Impala's website Allbrook says that he is "hopping off the Tame Impala band wagon so that he can try and screw his head back on, and make an attempt to assimilate back into society. A task the rest of us fear we will one day have to perform...." In an interview with NME Allbrook says, "All bands and projects and stuff will keep going, it's just hard to keep them all going if you're touring all the time. The only bad part will be not seeing my mates every day. I love them more than anything."
Kevin Parker and the rest of Tame Impala continue to tour behind their most recent album Lonerism.
