Spoon have announced a deluxe reissue of their 2005 album Gimme Fiction in honor of its 10th anniversary. It’s due out December 11 via the album’s original label, Merge. Spoon have shared one of the reissue’s bonus tracks, “Was It You? (Home Demo),” which you can listen to below.
The reissue will be released as a double-LP (180g), double CD, and digitally. Howie Weinberg remastered the album from the original tapes. And second disc includes 12 previously unreleased demos from the era. There’s also a digital download of an additional nine bonus tracks and a full color book of photos and an oral history of the making of the album by Sean O’Neal (of the A.V. Club). The LP includes a poster and a digital download of all 32 songs. Spoon has also set up a special Tumblr celebrating the album.
Spoon’s most recent album was 2014’s They Want My Soul, released by Loma Vista. Check out “Was It You? (Home Demo)” below.
