St. Vincent’s Annie Clark Composes an Orchestral Piece

Our lovely cover artist St. Vincent has been busy. In addition to heavily promoting her superb new album Strange Mercy, Annie Clark recently composed an orchestral piece called “Proven Badlands.” The departure from her usual guitar-based tunes is a contribution to forthcoming yMusic album, Beautiful Mechanical (out September 27 via New Amsterdam Records). The six-piece string quartet has also recruited the likes of My Brightest Diamond’s Shara Worden and Son Lux to contribute tunes.
