Stephen Colbert to Replace David Letterman on “The Late Show”
Transition to Happen of 2015
Apr 10, 2014 Stephen Colbert
Last week, David Letterman announced his retirement from The Late Show. Today, CBS announced that his replacement would none other than Stephen Colbert, host of Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report. The switch is likely to happen in 2015, as the date of Letterman’s final show hasn’t been announced. Expect late night mentions of Lord of the Rings, bears (godless killing machines!), and Wriststrong to jump 100%. Here’s hoping the satire doesn’t get lost in the move.
“I’m thrilled and grateful that CBS chose me,” said Colbert via press release. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go grind a gap in my front teeth.”
Colbert Nation—we’re going to be just fine.
