With Stereolab on a break, frontwoman Lætitia Sadier has taken the opportunity to announce details of her debut solo album, The Trip (September 21st). While a solo outing, the French-born singer will be joined by Richard Swift and April March in addition to French musicians Julien Gasc and Emmanuel Mario.
In addition to several incredibly personal original tracks, including opener “One Million Year Trip,” which deals with the suicide of Sadier’s sister, the album will include several covers, including Les Rita Mitsouko’s “Un Soir Un Chien,” and Wendy & Bonnie’s “By The Sea.”
