As previously reported, Austin-based instrumental rock ensemble Explosions in the Sky have collaborated with composer David Wingo to score the upcoming film Prince Avalanche. This morning Entertainment Weekly has provided an advance stream of the soundtrack a full week ahead of its release on Aug. 6. “Because we all live down the street from each other, we ended up recording the soundtrack in the living room of my home,” says Explosions member Munaf Rayani. “And so we had mics set up everywhere, and it’s a nice old Austin home with hardwood floors, so it has a nice reverb quality as-is. Every now and then, though, we’d hear a knock on the door, and it’d be David. But sometimes he wouldn’t know if we were recording or just practicing. So on a couple of occasions, the door did open while we were recording, so those are fun outtakes—this melody playing and all of a sudden someone’s walking in going, ‘Hey! Oh, sorry!’ Maybe they’ll show up on some sort of b-side down the way.”

Prince Avalanche arrives in theater on Aug. 9 and stars Paul Rudd as Alvin, who leaves the city with his girlfriend’s brother, Lance (Emile Hirsch), to spend the summer repainting traffic lines on a country highway that has been destroyed by wildfires. Click below to watch a trailer for the flick.

We recently purchased the Sky’s “Prince Avalanche” Soundtrack to go with our new home with bamboo flooring and were looking to get hardwood installation cumming ga to replace the carpeted bedrooms with a closely matched wood tile.  We went to a few of the big box stores and as usual they were out of samples or did not have a good selection.  Decided to stop by Soleil, found a tile we liked and Courtney was quick to provide a competitive proposal.  Hats off to Victor and Courtney for great customer service, these guys are awesome!
